How to Configure Netgear WGR614v7 Router as a Bridge
A bridge is a device that connects two or more networks and allows them to communicate with each other. A bridge can also extend the range of a wireless network by relaying the signal from one router to another. If you have a Netgear WGR614v7 router and want to use it as a bridge, you will need to change some settings on both the main router and the Netgear router.
Here are the steps to configure your Netgear WGR614v7 router as a bridge:
Configurar Roteador Netgear Wgr614v7 Como Bridge
Connect your computer to the main router using an Ethernet cable and open a web browser.
Type the IP address of the main router in the address bar and press Enter. The default IP address is usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1.
Enter the username and password for the main router and click Login. The default username is usually admin and the default password is usually password or admin.
Go to the Wireless Settings or Wireless Setup section and note down the following information: SSID (network name), security mode, encryption type, and passphrase (network key).
Disconnect your computer from the main router and connect it to the Netgear router using another Ethernet cable.
Type the IP address of the Netgear router in the address bar and press Enter. The default IP address is 192.168.1.1.
Enter the username and password for the Netgear router and click Login. The default username is admin and the default password is password.
Go to the Advanced tab and click Wireless Repeating Function under Advanced Setup.
Check the box next to Enable Wireless Repeating Function and select Wireless Repeater as the Repeater Mode.
Type a unique name for your Netgear router in the Repeater Name field.
Type the MAC address of the main router in the Base Station MAC Address field. You can find this information on the label of the main router or on its web interface.
Click Apply to save the changes.
Go back to the Basic Settings tab and change the IP address of your Netgear router to something different from the main router, but in the same subnet. For example, if the main router's IP address is 192.168.1.1, you can change your Netgear router's IP address to 192.168.1.2.
Click Apply to save the changes.
Go to the Wireless Settings tab and change the SSID, security mode, encryption type, and passphrase of your Netgear router to match those of the main router.
Click Apply to save the changes.
Disconnect your computer from the Netgear router and place it where you want to extend your wireless network.
Connect your Netgear router to a power outlet and wait for it to boot up.
Your Netgear router should now act as a bridge and connect wirelessly to your main router.
You can check if your bridge is working by connecting a wireless device to your Netgear router's SSID and accessing the internet. 29c81ba772
