With digital purchases you are still able to play the games you download even after the online store goes down or if a game is delisted where's with NSO there is none of that, when the service ends or if a game is somehow delisted then you cant play it any more, the game and save files are gone.

For customers it sucks. But at the same time that's the issue with digital, virtual console, online multiplayer (I know will be done later but then again private servers will step in and many have) and more. At least they offered a physical to digital save file utility tool on 3DS that's cool.

Didn't buy anything but I made sure to do a bunch of Pokemon downloading and updates for my system. I own all the 3DS games I would have ever wanted to purchase, so I'm satisfied. The only two games I would have liked to get would have been Samus Returns and Kid Icarus Uprising but I would have preferred both physical. At least I can play Metroid II on NSO online and I'm very confident Kid Icarus Uprising will receive a modern port in the near future. I don't own a Wii U but Xenoblade X would have been nice to have, also expecting a modern port of the game.

Tried redeeming a game code and my 3DS now tells me codes can no longer be redeemed. Trying online just gets a 902-3279 error..never seen that before. You can still purchase games in the eshop, but I see no reason they should stop the codes working now.

@BelatarrIm definitely hoping that going forward their digital stores are at least better when it comes to future proofing, though the fact that their retro content requires periodic online checks to function doesn't really bode well when it comes to that.

It feels like when these kinds of criticisms come up though you often get the "Nintendo does its own thing" and "if you dont like it then leave" (to paraphrase things) mentality but there are definitely times when embracing what is considered the "standard" is beneficial to consumers, such as apple finally switching to USB-C or microsofts decision to backpeddle on their whole always-online and mandatory-kinect choices with xboxone

Still, gamers should hurry and make all of their planned purchases, as even these options won't be around too much longer. After March 2023, Nintendo is planning on discontinuing the eShop for the 3DS and the Wii U entirely. The online gaming features of already purchased eShop games will still function for the time being, so be sure to buy these games as soon as possible to enjoy them in the future.

The DSi shop was the first online store Nintendo ever opened on one of its handhelds, and it's filled with experimental games and applications. One such game is WarioWare: Snapped!, a bite-sized entry in the WarioWare microgame series that utilizes the DSi's camera. It's arguably the worst WarioWare game, but it's a fun piece of Nintendo history that will soon be inaccessible. There are plenty of other DSi games to look through on the 3DS eShop, in addition to mainline WarioWare games available to buy on Wii U.

The SMT series is full of high-quality, extremely difficult JRPGs. They're also difficult to come by, with each entry costing upwards of $70 online. If you played Shin Megami Tensei V on Switch and want to experience more of the franchise, the Nintendo 3DS eShop is the best place to do it. And, while the mainline Persona games haven't reached Nintendo consoles, Persona Q2 is a rare 3DS game that features Persona 5's Joker.

My parents got back from Italy, long story short they couldn't find a 3DS.Anyway, what's the cheapest online store where I can buy a 3DS preferably in US Dollars or Euros? (I live in Israel so I get most of my stuff from both US and Europe...)

Nintendo ruffled some feathers this week when it announced that both the Wii U and 3DS online eShops will no longer accept purchases come March 2023. But these limits are actually worse than they first appear. Nintendo went on to clarify that users will no longer be able to add money to their Wii U or 3DS eShop accounts using credit cards starting on May 23, 2022, which is just around the corner. Adding funds to those accounts via Nintendo eShop gift cards will also end come Aug. 29.

As reported by Eurogamer, it seems that the official U.K. website for the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass says something the U.S. site doesn't. Players will apparently be able to play DLC courses online with friends even if they themselves don't have access to the DLC.

Courses from Wave 1 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Booster Course Pass can be played from 18th March locally or online in Friends and Rivals races, even if only one player owns the Booster Course Pass or has access to it as part of a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership.

So, if I were to purchase the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC on Switch and then invite friends to race against me online, those friends would be able to play the DLC courses I selected. It's a great way to give players a taste of the extra courses before they buy them.

Your Nintendo Network ID, or NNID, was the account you made for the Wii U and 3DS. It can be used for buying and downloading software from the eShops and for online features such as multiplayer and interactions.

Your Nintendo Account is used on the Nintendo Switch for online services such as the eShop, mobile applications, off-device software purchases, and My Nintendo loyalty service. You likely created this account off-device and through the Nintendo Account website.

Because the 3DS is the first Nintendo handheld to be region locked (you can only play games from the country you bought it from) the territory you buy it from determines which games you can play - although you can play online games against players from any region.

In addition to consoles, Nintendo has also offering up new bundles and discounts on some of its 2016 games, although right now these don't appear to be related to Black Friday. Here are some of the best deals online right now: 041b061a72
